The Pet Shop Boys’ Late Night Prom concert at the Royal Albert Hall will take place tonight at 10.15. Performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Dominic Wheeler, the programme will consist of:
1. “Overture to ‘Performance’ ”, arranged by Richard Niles.
2. “Four songs in A minor”, arranged by Angelo Badalamenti and sung by Chrissie Hynde.
3. “A Man From The Future”, an evocation of the life and work of Alan Turing written by Tennant and Lowe with biographer Andrew Hodges, with orchestrations by Sven Helbig. Performed by Pet Shop Boys, the BBC Concert Orchestra and the BBC Singers and narrated by Juliet Stevenson. Seated tickets for the concert are sold out but 1000 standing “Prom” tickets, priced £5.00, are available from the Royal Albert Hall box office from 7.45 pm tomorrow. Hours before their new album “Nonetheless” is released into the world, PSB will be joining Jo Whiley as special guests on BBC Radio 2 for “An Evening In with Pet Shop Boys”.
To celebrate the release of their new album “Nonetheless” and the 2024 leg of their “Dreamworld” world tour, Pet Shop Boys will play an intimate club show at London’s KOKO on 26th May.
