Last night, I attended the opening celebrations of the beautifully restored and enlarged Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle which now has three screens showing the best films from around the world, as well as bars, cafes and an editing suite to encourage local film makers. In so many cities around the UK it’s difficult to get to see the most interesting films, not just the blockbuster product, but the Tyneside Cinema is now a world-class destination for film and a great night out.
